Buying The Right Size
A Guide For Men
One of the biggest problems men face when buying gifts for their wives or girlfriends is working out the complexities of female clothes sizing. We'd like to help.
I already know the right size. What should I do now?
Lucky you! Head straight to our special
bra finder to discover what is available in her size.
What if my wife / girlfriend will let me measure her?
Most gifts are surprise purchases, which implies that you will not have such assistance. If you can, consult our
bra size guide or look at our
size table for briefs, suspenders and other lingerie, nightwear and clothing items.
I don't know her size. What should I do?
You basically have two options:
1. Have a root through her lingerie drawer and / or wardrobe, looking for bras and other clothes with size labels in.
Be aware, though, that many women often have different sized stuff in their wardrobes, so you might want to keep an eye out for her favourite items
2. If all else fails, stick to buying something with simple sizing (i.e. small, medium, large) because you should be able to make an educated guess of
which is appropriate. Examples would be camisoles, nightwear and suspenders/briefs.
Can you explain women's sizes to me?
There are three different ways clothes sizes are quoted for women:
1. simple "SMALL", "MEDIUM" or "LARGE" (S/M/L)
2. dress sizing (8, 10, 12, 14, 16, 18, 20 ....)
3. bra sizes (34B, 38C, 44DD etc)
US customers should note that US dress sizes are slightly different, but easily converted to UK sizes (just add 4 to the US size).
Visit our
Bra Size Search wizard to find a bra in her size, or our General Size Guide for help on more general sizing.
